Region Three Directors
The new 2023 rally season is in full swing! Region Three had its first rally of the year at the Little Turtle RV Park near Eufaula, Oklahoma. State Directors, Allen & Natalie Jones, had everything organized beautifully. The meeting room at the park was just the right size for the 20 couples who attended. The meals were delicious, and there was lots of good food! Bill Effron was the leader of the Tech Talk one morning, and his wife Susan prepared everything for the Taco Dinner. Yum, Yum!!!! Thank you to the volunteers who helped at this rally.
Ice cream sundaes were served on Saturday. The sun was shining, and it was a beautiful day to sit outside in a big circle and enjoy each other’s company. Dogs were also welcome and seemed to enjoy it as much as their owners.
There were three new couples with brand new coaches at this rally. They weren’t afraid to ask questions, and our group loves to help with that kind of thing. All the newbies seemed to fit right in, and we look forward to seeing them down the road. We were also pleased that our Members-at-Large, Evan & Debbie Hughes, were able to attend this rally.
One day, everyone carpooled to Muskogee, the town made famous by Merle Haggard’s song, “Okie from Muskogee.” We enjoyed visiting the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and the Three Rivers Museum. The entertainment one evening was provided by Prairie Grass Productions. The group was comprised of four famous Oklahoma U.S. Marshalls from the 1800s and one outlaw, the infamous Belle Starr. Each of the Marshalls and Belle Starr were dressed in their period costumes and assumed the identity of their character. They did a great job, and it was easy to believe they were telling their own story.
The next rally will be the Region Three Rally in Branson, Missouri, June 14-18. We plan to attend the Arkansas State Rally at Mountain Home, Arkansas, in the latter part of July and the Kansas State Rally in Abilene in August. Of course, the rally everyone looks forward to every year is the International Rally which is in our own Region Three (Sedalia, Missouri) September 30 -October 7.
