Like most of the people we know, we are not doing any traveling right now. We have been staying at home with just a few trips to the grocery store and to Lowe’s. We have learned how to shop for groceries online, and all we have to do is wait in the designated parking area for them to bring the groceries to us.
Our grandson and his wife are temporarily staying in our motor home in our driveway. They had planned to travel all summer up the East Coast in their VW van. They were near Washington, D.C. when they found the first national park closed because of the Coronavirus. Realizing that traveling had just become unrealistic, they gave us a call. We are thrilled to have them. We practice social distancing, but get together with them on the patio. Their own home was being leased out while they traveled, so this worked out well.
So far, Larry has stayed busy with projects around the house. He has refinished all the baseboards and kitchen cabinets. He has helped the grandson build a new deck. Today he was on the tractor mowing 10 acres that we own. I have also managed to find plenty to do, except my hobbies don’t require as much physical labor. I enjoy working on my genealogy projects. I also recently had some old slides and home movies converted to digital media, and I’m trying to figure out how to organize and share those items. I love reading. The cat and I go for walks in the backyard. Naps are a good thing. So far, I haven’t been bored.
We hope you are all staying well and that we are able to see you soon.
