Region Three Directors
In mid-November we traveled to Bandera, Texas, for the Kountry Lone Star Rally. Bandera is such an interesting small town in Texas Hill Country! Lots of fun shopping and historical buildings. We took a short drive out to Camp Verde, the location of the U.S. Army’s Camel Corps during the Civil War. Be sure to stop here if you are in the area.
Our hosts did a wonderful job of keeping us entertained and fed. So much good food!! We also really enjoyed participating in the “Dirty Santa” gift exchange.
On December 12 we attended the Okie Kountry Klub Christmas Dinner party at Charleston’s Restaurant in Oklahoma City. It was hosted by Lee & Nancy Allen, who are retiring as chapter officers this year. As usual, the event was well planned. There were 24 in attendance, and everyone enjoyed the meal and the “Dirty Santa” gift exchange. We want to thank Lee & Nancy for all their service to the Klub.
We have scheduled the Region Three Rally for 2022. It will be held in Durant, Oklahoma, at the Choctaw Casino KOA RV Park. It is a beautiful park with 50 amp service and full hookups. Every site is on 12’ x 80’ concrete pads and has a covered table and grill. As soon as we know the price for the rally, it will be posted on the Newmar website. As we write this article, we are still in the planning stages. So be sure to check the website for the latest updates. We will be limited to 40 sites, so reserve your spot early. You can register online. Checks should be made out to Larry Wood and mailed to 12401 S. 12th Street, Jenks, OK 74037.
Our other big news for Region Three is that we have new State Directors for both Texas and Oklahoma. Mike & Kathy Hutchens of Texas and Allen & Natalie Jones of Oklahoma have agreed to take over the leadership role in their states. Thank you Mike, Kathy, Allen and Natalie. We know you are going to be outstanding State Directors!
THE BIGGEST NEWS OF ALL IS: REGION THREE WILL BE IN CHARGE OF PARKING AND REGISTRATION AT THE INTERNATIONAL RALLY THIS YEAR. If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know.
