Greetings again from Missouri. We hope everyone had a great summer and was able to get out and enjoy some “windshield time”! In addition to enjoying the International Rally, we also went to Gettysburg and then on to Philadelphia afterwards. Seeing the Battlefield in Gettysburg as well as Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell was very moving. Oh, and the Philly cheesesteaks were excellent! We also had a chance to make the short drive to Table Rock Lake to visit friends. It’s always great to take the coach out regardless of how long the trip is.
Here’s a bit of information for anyone considering towing a 2021 F150. This truck has electric assisted brakes rather than vacuum assisted brakes. So, using your auxiliary braking system (you DO have one, correct) when towing means your truck battery is getting a workout. You need a charge line from the coach to the truck to keep the truck battery from going dead when towing for 8 hours. Don’t ask me how I know!
This is written back in September so by the time you get to read this a couple of Missouri chapter activities mentioned will have already occurred. These include the rally at Coachlight RV September 28 – October 2, and the luncheon October 28 in Carthage. I hope several of you were able to make those.
The winds in Brownsville were just too much for us last year so we are headed back to Arizona this winter. Maybe we will run into some of you there. Here’s hoping everyone is safe and healthy and that everyone has a great holiday season coming up.
Safe travels! We can be reached at Dave, starmaster145@gmail.com or 417-224-3814 and Barbara bb6991@gmail.com or 417-224-1082.
