West Virginia Traveling Mountaineers – Presidents
Spring has finally arrived in West Virginia. As we use our coach all year, we do not go through the ritual of de-winterizing in preparation for rally season. This also allows me to spread the maintenance jobs through the year, some of which I do while in Florida. While cleaning and polishing this year I noticed the caps on the tank vents on the roof were disintegrating due to UV exposure. As someone who tries to save money, I looked around the internet for the cheapest price. Surprisingly, the Newmar Parts Dept. had the lowest price and free shipping. For some items, Newmar is expensive, but it is definitely worth checking.
Now we are all set to head for the West Virginia State Rally in June. I noticed that there were more rallies in April and May this year, so we may be a little late starting our season, but we did need a break after our winter in Florida. Also, this is the time to catch up on all our doctor visits, to ensure we are fit enough for another year of traveling. For some reason the house and garden also need some maintenance work. The grass and weeds don’t seem to care that we want to be away again either.
This year we are holding our chapter rally in Huntington, West Virginia September 14-18 at Beech Fork State Park. Details will be posted in the NKK calendar. This will be the time we can get together and plan events for 2023. If you have any thoughts about rallies or other chapter business, contact us at the address below. Looking forward to seeing many of you again soon.
