Bill and Beth White (20471)
West Virginia State Directors
Progress has finally been made on the new house. We have a plan and a contractor and construction should start soon. We have found a company to put in the pool, have purchased a sleep number bed, have decided on what appliances we want and have located a vendor for them. Phew! Considering our age, we have developed a plan that will put all of our living space on the first floor. The second floor will be two guest bedrooms and a bathroom. We will also have a storage area there for Christmas decorations and such. The great room, dining room and kitchen are all in one big room. Beth will have a craft room, and Bill will have an office across the hall. Our bedroom will allow access to the 4’ deep 12’ X 25’ pool that Bill needs for his back and knees. A bathroom, walk-in closet and laundry are also accessed from the bedroom. Finally, attached to the public area are a powder room and pantry. The entire new house is to be attached to our existing garage.
The Region Six Regional Rally was excellent, but we had to arrive a day late because we experienced a defective front tire in Washington, Pennsylvania on the way to the rally. We were scheduled to come in a day early, but we had to wait two days for a new one in the Tanger Outlet Parking Lot. It could have been worse. We both took the opportunity to buy some new shoes for the summer.
Next week we will journey to Moundsville, West Virginia to host our West Virginia State Rally. We have a packed agenda. We will visit the old West Virginia State Prison which has been the backdrop for several movies, then we walk across the street to the Archaeological Museum, which is a part of the Moundsville Mound complex. The Mound is the largest of its type in the United States and was visited by Meriwether Lewis prior to his journey west, as part of the Lewis & Clark expedition. The other highlight is a tour of Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold. One of the seven most important religious sites in the United States. We will also visit the Fostoria Glass Museum and the Cockayne Farmstead. Should be lots of fun.
As this is written, we hope to see many of you in Rock Springs for the International Rally. In the meantime, we hope you have a safe summer.
God Bless you all.
