Regional Six Directors
Hello Region Six & our Newmar Family!! Wow, where has the summer gone? We have had a great rally season this far. Here it is August and we have had several State Rallies, our Region Six Rally and the International Rally! Time just seems to fly extra fast during the summer rally season.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the VOLUNTEERS and especially our shuttle cart volunteers at the International Rally in Rock Springs!! We could not do it without the help of all of you!! We were again very blessed to have lots of help. It was also a time to see old friends and make new friends during the rally. Thank you also to Ron & Wanda Llewellyn (International Directors) Evan & Debbie Hughes (Members at Large), all of our fellow Region Directors, Linda Feece & DeAnn LaMaine (NKK Office) for all your hard work, friendship and support during the rally.
We also want to recognize Rob & Sherry Krajicek from SKY MED for all their support and informational talks at several rallies within our region this year!!
We had such a wonderful time at the Great Lakers/Michigan Aire joint rally in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. We want to give a travel recommendation to those of you who might be considering traveling to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We stayed at the Aune Osborne campground located on the Saint Mary’s River in Sault Ste. Marie. We were able to just sit and watch the freighters pass by us while sitting right outside our coach. We also recommend taking a tour of the Soo Locks with the ORIGINAL SOO LOCKS BOAT TOUR Company. We were treated to a GREAT Captain and very knowledgeable tour narrator. Captain Ray Sheldon and his wife Peggy (our tour narrator) gave us the BEST tour we have ever been on. Captain Ray had just retired after 44 ½ years as a freighter captain on the Great Lakes. They were very kind, funny and gracious with their time in answering any question anyone had. We enjoyed them so much our members invited them to our campfire and dessert potluck that night, and they quickly agreed to come and join us. Wow did we hear some interesting stories about them and the ships on the Great Lakes!!
We are looking forward to the rest of the rally season here in our region. At the end of our season here we will be traveling to Region Five for their Region Rally with Gary & Wanda Smith! It will be exciting to experience another region’s rally. We are really looking forward to spending time in that region and with our Newmar Family down there.
