2022 is here! Can you believe it? I hope that everyone had a safe and joyous holiday season. Now we have just a couple more months of winter to get through (unless you are lucky like some of us who winter in warmer places.)
Jeanne & I are spending our first winter at our new property in Port St. Lucie, Florida. What a great resort! We have everything from golf leagues, bike rides, at least three weekends a month of live music and just great people at the resort. We really hit the jackpot with this resort! We have quite a few of our chapter members within an hour or two. We are doing our best to meet up with all of them during our stay. We were torn between attending the resort’s New Year’s Eve party or watching our UC Bearcats in the Cotton Bowl and Michigan in the Orange Bowl. Watching the bowl games with friends in our tiki hut won out.
Congratulations to chapter members Tim & Jane Doan on the purchase of their new Essex. Tim & Jane lost their King Aire in a fire at our storage facility in July. Their new coach is beautiful and hopefully all of you will have the opportunity to check it out at a future rally.
Jeanne has our trips planned out for this year and it looks like we aren’t going to be home much. Hopefully, the Omicron variant won’t cut into those plans. It seems that COVID is not going to go away and we have to keep adapting our lifestyles to cope with the disease. We will continue to monitor the situation and make our upcoming rallies as safe as possible.
Speaking of rallies, our June and October rallies are confirmed. Our June Rally will be held at the Campbell Cove Campground in Logan, Ohio from June 10-12. This is in the Hocking Hills area and looks to be a fun rally. Thanks to Mike & Kay Althoff for hosting. Our August Rally will be held on August 12-14, and is tentatively scheduled to be held in Streetsboro, Ohio. This sounds like it is going to be a rally you don’t want to miss. Our October Rally is set for October 7-9 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Wooster, Ohio where we will take in the Wayne County Fall Foliage Tour. Jim & Diane Fry are hosting and there is a chance we might be treated once again to some of Jim Fry’s special recipe chicken! As you can see, we have a great 2022 rally season planned. Remember, we now have two chapters in Ohio. If the BKT rallies don’t fit into your calendar, be sure to check out the LED (Lake Erie Drifters) rallies. Also remember wherever you travel, you are welcome to attend any rally as an NKK member.
So, as the sun begins to set here in sunny south Florida, it’s time for a refreshing chilled beverage and relaxing in the tiki hut. Stay safe, well and warm!
