Greetings Buckeyes! By the time that this hits the press, we will have our Region Six Rally behind us and gearing up for our June chapter rally at Geneva on the Lake. Our hosts Bob & Jill Peasley have a great time planned for us. At the last count, 20 coaches had registered. As usual, we will practice whatever Covid-19 guidelines are in place by the State of Ohio. We know that we can have a good time and still stay safe and healthy.
March was our annual heavy cleaning, waxing and polishing of the coach. I spent two weeks working on the exterior. I tried a new product, Turtle Wax Ice Seal and Shine on the finish. Several of my motor coaching friends at our storage facility told me about it. I was impressed with the ease of application and the finish it left behind. It really is slick as ice. Our new collapsible golf cart arrived and of course, assembly was required. Jeanne decided to remodel the hall bath in our brick and mortar as well. Needless to say, much was accomplished in the month of March.
In early April, Jeanne & I said goodbye to our Gulf Shores, Alabama property and closed the purchase of our new place in Port St. Lucie, Florida. That was a lot of paperwork to go through!
We then hit the road for Kerrville, Texas. Jeanne wanted to see the bluebonnets in bloom. While there we visited the Alamo, did the San Antonio RiverWalk, visited Fredericksburg, Texas, the LBJ Ranch and many other places. During our stay at Buckhorn Lake Resort there was a knock at our door. There was a gentleman that had just purchased a brand-new New Aire and was having some issues with it. It appears that he received a very short PDI from his dealer.
Luckily, I knew a bit more than the PDI tech did and was able to help him out. After our work was completed, we sat and chatted for a while. He was so grateful for the help from a fellow Newmar owner. I told him about the NKK and that there were hundreds more of us out there. He asked how to join the NKK. Of course, I just happened to bring an application with me and he is going to join the NKK. It was great meeting a new owner, helping them out and getting them to join the NKK. From there we went on to Ruidoso, New Mexico, Amarillo, Texas then back to Ohio to get ready for rally season.
Hopefully everyone is signed up for the July NKK International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia. We always look forward to meeting up with friends we have made through the NKK and making new ones. We hope to see you there. I’m sure that our chapter members will find lots of interesting things to do while there.
We have welcomed several new chapter members in the last few months. It seems like the word is spreading that we have a great chapter and have a lot of fun together. I want to thank each of our chapter members for making us the group that we are. We are blessed to have such a fun and active chapter.
Congratulations to Don & Dee Nelson who recently picked up their new Mountain Aire and Bill & Beth with their new London Aire. We can’t wait to see your new coaches!
Remember when traveling to check out other chapters and their rallies. Remember to support our Region Six chapters as well. They always welcome us as we do them. I hope to see you all at one of the upcoming rallies. Stay well and travel safe.
