I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday season. 2020 has been a strange year and I’m glad it is behind us. Let’s hope 2021 is a much more enjoyable year.
Jeanne & I spent three weeks on the road traveling to Brunswick, Georgia, Port St. Lucie, Florida and the Newmar Rally in the Keys. The most interesting thing that we saw was a capsized cargo ship loaded with cars in Saint Simons Sound. We were told that the salvage crews had to cut the ship apart and remove it in pieces. It was a sight to see! We visited several museums and historical sites in the area. While in Port St. Lucie, we visited the Navy Seal Museum. The museum is highly recommended if you ever visit the area. We also could not stay away from our favorite restaurant, The Quiet Crab in Stuart, Florida. They have the absolute best crab cakes we have ever had. We took some friends from the area who had never been there…they are now going to be regulars! We then went on to the Rally in the Keys. Our hosts Gary & Wanda Smith and co-hosts Ron & Wanda Llewellyn made sure we all had a great time. From there we made our way back to Ohio just in time for the temperatures to drop and the snow to fly. Our January and February travels will take us back to Port St. Lucie, Port Charlotte, Florida and on to Gulf Shores.
Our rally season is just around the corner. All chapter members should have received our rally schedule via email. If not, please let me know or check the events in the Konnection. Our rally hosts have some fun things planned and I know that we are all anxious to get back together again.
We will be looking for rally hosts for our 2022 rally season in the not-too-distant future. If you are interested, please let me know. You will be surprised how much fun you will have and as always, I’m here to assist you in any way that I can.
Speaking of rallies, I hope everyone is considering attending the 2021 Newmar International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia in July. The International is always a lot of fun. Consider volunteering at the rally. There are many positions open and help is always needed.
We have a great chapter and are always looking for ways to improve. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? If you do, please forward them to me. If you haven’t paid your chapter dues, please get them to Treasurer Jill Peasley. In the meantime, please travel safe and stay healthy!
