Penn’s Friends – Presidents

Hello to everyone. As you are reading this we are up in our home state of Pennsylvania for Christmas with our family. We are looking forward to heading back to Florida for warmer weather. It is 19 degrees here this morning. We will be heading back Monday after Christmas. We are taking the Western route, on Interstate 81 South instead of our usual way is 95 south. 95 can be a nightmare with everybody heading down to Florida after the holiday.

We really enjoyed our journey down along the Mississippi River. It was a 34 day trip with 24 other RV’s, motorhomes and fifth wheels. We all became one big family. It’s amazing how a group of RVers can come together from all areas of the US with the same interest and become good friends. Several people had new Newmar’s. We spoke a lot about the advantages of the Kountry Klub and joining a chapter. One from New York said he wanted to join Penn’s Friends. We hope to see them in Florida this winter.

As this is written our next adventure is going to the Tampa RV show. We haven’t gone for several years and are glad to be going again. Hope to get a few things done to the Motorhome with the Newmar techs being there.

April will be our trip down to Key West for a week at Blue Water Key. We are planning to bring our Can Am Spyder motorcycle along to explore the area in more detail, and it helps dealing with the traffic in downtown area.

Here is another reminder of Penn’s Friends Rally this year. Our 2022 rally will be September 21-25 at the Hershey Road Campground in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania (thank you Phil Horan for finding this). They have set aside premium pull through sites 140-157 for us. They would like us to call and make our reservation after January 1 and put down a deposit of $79-$89. Estimated site total for the weekend is around $375. When you call, just tell them you are with Penn’s Friends. Hope to have more details of activities and such. More info to follow shortly. I will email all Penn’s Friends and anyone who has registered as soon as we have more details.

I hope to see the COVID-19 become a thing of the past in 2022. But it does not look good right now with Omicron making things worse again. Hoping everyone is doing what they can do or want to do to keep this disease from spreading more. Be safe and hope to see everyone down the road.
