Here we are, summer is almost over and we are facing fall. The International Rally was a huge success! We had 25 coaches from Pennsylvania represented at the rally. The two Pennsylvania chapters were in charge of the two charities at the rally. For the 1st Responders, which were West Virginia State Police, Sherriff’s Department, EMT’s, and the local Fire Dept., we collected 295 stuffed animals for children in traumatic situations. For the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia we collected 19 boxes of towels, washcloths, bedding, blankets, as well as backpacks and suitcases. We also raised over $12,000 in cash and checks. This is all because of the overwhelming love and support of Newmar Owners.

Yesterday Sue and I concluded our Pennsylvania State Rally with 23 coaches in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, “Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.” Bob and Jane Hadley, Region Seven Directors and the NEW, New York State Directors John and Diane Svatek attended along with 2 couples from Texas. We had a horse drawn covered wagon tour of the base of the canyon with a cowboy lunch, a look over the top of the canyon, a day downtown old Wellsboro, known for their gas lanterns which line their streets, a tour of the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, as well as the Eliot Ness Museum, and entertainment by Dave Driskell & The Molly Boys Jug Band, sponsored by Ansley’s RV and Camping Center.

We are now focusing on our last rally of the season, the Region Seven Rally in Boothbay, Maine, where we can fill up on lobster and fellowship with friends we have not seen in a few months.
