The International in Lewisburg, West Virginia was an exciting time. We renewed friendship s with many of our friends. New York placed well in number of attendees. I believe that we were 6th which is great. I remember when we placed 9th and I thought that was good.
We had an incident on the way which makes one realize we should have a dash cam. Some one hit the mirror on the left side when we were in a construction zone. You cannot look for plate numbers when this happens, you cannot stop, you must keep control of everything and check it out later. A dash cam would have helped in this case. As it turned out no damage occurred.
We managed to go to Greenbrier and shop at Tamarack where there was a large variety of local artisan products to shop for. We watched someone making glass objects in a glass furnace. The person that works in front of the furnace has to be tolerant of extreme heat.
My brother-in-law from Texas put on a Shrimp Boil for the New York members that was really good. Some people just have the talent to cook a good meal. The State members also provided a NYS cake on our stepping down from the director’s position. It was a great day in our lives. Thank you!
