West Virginia – Almost Heaven! What an incredible rally. We had seven coaches and a guest attending and five of us were able to park together. Seminars were very educational and the vendor’s sales and support were great. Several of us had Newmar service performed and as expected, they were outstanding. Does not hurt that the price was discounted and we did not have to drive to Nappanee to get the best service available. A couple of us were also able to get a head start on the Lippert window recall. They were performing onsite inspections. We had two bad windows replaced and the whole process was only 30 minutes.

NIRVC had a great display of the full 2022 lineup, must say they were very tempting. With our coach being only 18 months old, it was a good area to avoid.

Lakers had two additional rallies. In June we were at the Daisy Barn Campground, Wilson, New York right on the shores of Lake Ontario. Hosted by Pat and Dennis King and Kay and Paul Mayer. Beautiful area with sunsets over the lake. Great area to visit with many local attractions such as Niagara Falls, Old Fort Erie, quaint Niagara River villages and wineries.

We hosted our August Rally at Hidden Valley Camping Area, Jamestown, New York. This is a small, older city located on the banks of Chautauqua Lake. It is also the birthplace of Lucille Ball and home to a museum dedicated to Lucy and Desi Arnaz. We toured the museum and were amazed by how much more there was to Lucille Ball than I Love Lucy. One interesting fact for the Trekkies is that we would not have had Star Trek without Lucy. Desilu produced the first Star Trek pilot after which the plan was to cancel the series due to high production costs. Lucy overrode the board and had a second pilot produced and the rest is history. We also toured the National Comedy Center, a center dedicated to the history of comedy. It was Lucy’s dream to have a center to celebrate all forms of comedy including cartoons, comic strips, standup, TV and movies.
