Barbara and I had the good fortune of spending a week in Lake George, New York with our two children and four grandchildren. What a fun time we all had camping and enjoying each other. We then decided that we would rent a pontoon boat for a day. What a fun day on a beautiful lake watching the kids on tubes being thrown in the air and hearing them say “can I do it again please.” Memories for all!
Barbara and I then left Lake George and attended the Garden Aires Rally at the Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA in Clarksboro, New Jersey. This rally had 11 coaches in attendance and was hosted by our Klub President and Vice President (April Danley and Colin Smith) who did a great job. As this was April’s and Colin’s first rally to host you can only imagine the time and effort these two put in to prepare for this wonderful time. I am sure that those who attended will agree that for a first time they did an awesome job. This was a bit of an unusual rally as it started on a Sunday and ended on a Wednesday. The rally days were set up this way as a pre-rally before the International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
So, onto Lewisburg, West Virginia we go from the rally in Clarksboro, New Jersey. We had six coaches who traveled together to the International Rally and were able to boondock together on the Thursday night before the International began. It’s always nice when you travel as a group in case someone has a problem. Reassuring at its best.
While at the International Rally Barbara and I helped to take care of the mail. Even though I had a golf cart to pick up and deliver the mail it sure was fun to just drive around and see the sights. It was great to see some friends that we had not seen in a while and of course we had the pleasure of making new ones as well. We also had the opportunity to welcome a new couple to the Garden Aires; Mikey and Lucy DeLoreto. They presently own a Baystar and we look forward to seeing them at our rallies or on the road. I am sure that everyone that attended and worked as volunteers will agree that they worked with some awesome people which was very rewarding and fun. This rally was especially good since there was no rally last year, and this made it extra special. I know what made the rally terrific – the PEOPLE!
Speaking of people – how about those Techs and the all the work they were able to accomplish? And then to top it off the Caring and Sharing project that Wayne and Sue Burke chaired. Absolutely amazing and a big Thank You to them for making such a difference in children’s lives.
Here is a preliminary list of rally dates for 2022 – so please save these dates: New Jersey Garden Aires Rally – Arrival on Thursday, May 5th and depart on Sunday, May 8th. New Jersey State Rally – Arrival on Thursday, September 22nd and depart on Sunday, September 25th (locations to be determined).
And last but not least-a big THANK YOU to our past New Jersey Director the one and only Bill Mannion for volunteering to be our new Klub Treasurer starting January 1, 2022. What a relief.
