Region One Directors
Welcome to the Region One articles for the August/September Legacy magazine. As our officers write these articles, we are doing so far in advance of when you receive them in August due to the International Rally occurring in July. The Newmar Kountry Klub office staff, Linda & DeAnn, need to get the Legacy to print before the rally as they more than have their hands full of projects at the International Rally.
We really can’t tell you for sure all the wonderful things that took place at the rally, but I’m sure many took place and many friendships were made as well as revisited. Our International Directors have spent well over a year planning the rally and events, and even with all the lingering effects of COVID in our world, they managed to put together a great rally for all of us to enjoy.
August finds us on the “Taste of the West” caravan hosted by Marty & Marion Marcum. Twenty-two coaches will explore much of the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, and will end the caravan in Yellowstone National Park for four days of exploring the tremendous sights of this incredible park.
September 15-19 is the Colorado State Rally being held at the Colorado Springs KOA. September 19-22 finds Mary & I hosting the Region One Rally in Paso Robles, California. We are excited to announce that the famous Hearst Castle has re-opened to the public after two years of COVID closure and road construction, and we plan to make a castle tour part of the rally.
Next up for Region One will be the Golden Bears Chapter Rally in Jackson, California September 26-30 followed by the Arizona State Rally October 6-10 in Ehrenberg, Arizona.
Our welcome rally for the new Utah Chapter in Region One will be held October 14-17 in Hurricane, Utah in the southwestern portion of Utah. Please make an effort to show your support for our newly formed chapter by attending this rally or at least joining the new chapter as a charter member.
This rally is followed by the Nevada State/Chapter Rally in Boulder City, Nevada October 24-27 at Lake Mead RV Village. This rally will include a tour of the Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team’s home facilities.
These rallies take us up to the holiday season, and we truly hope you have participated in a Region One rally or two this year. We’re hoping to have a chance to chat with many of you at the International Rally this year.
