California State Directors
Good morning, afternoon or evening or whatever the time is where you are while reading this much sought-after California State Directors article. So, first and as usual, the beautiful blond one & I hope all is well with you, your family and friends. We wish for you many, many fun and exciting days ahead as you roll your beautiful Newmar coach down the well-worn, pothole infested highways. Yes, you will never find these types of roads in California because we pay higher taxes, there is just no way there are any bad roads in the Golden State!
Now for the bad news! Eh, got ya, there never is any bad news as you motorhome in your Newmar, only fun and exciting places to visit and learn about. With the hopeful end or learning on how to survive in the COVID world, let’s start traveling around our beautiful country and share the places with family and friends. No, WWIII, hopefully, has not started by the time of my article so get out there. Now you might say where do I go? Well, let me start by asking, have you supported your state chapter lately by going to their rally? How about the International Rally in Rock Springs, Wyoming this year? Basically, the more you support and attend these fantastic rallies, the better the Newmar Kountry Klub will be. Oh, by the way, remember at the rallies, volunteer to help by either serving a meal, cleaning up after a meal, parking, manning a booth or my favorite, driving the golf carts around the venue. Yeah, speed racer in an electric cart. You just can’t beat the wind blowing in your face as you transport Newmar owners!
Ok, ok, I know what you’re saying. Have the beautiful blond one & I supported our state in chapter rallies this year so far? Answer is yes. We hosted the California State Rally in San Diego the past February. It was fun and exciting, had great meals and fun times with other Newmar owners. The weather was slightly cold with a little rain or mist to ruin the shine on our coaches. But we survived. In March we supported and attended the Golden Aires Rally in Temecula. More good times again, and in April, we supported and attended the 49er’s Rally in Monterey. It’s just amazing how the beautiful California weather just follows us to each event. So, if you want to hear more about our California chapter rallies, visit and read the chapter presidents’ articles in this edition of the Legacy.
Speaking of chapters: Do you know California has three NKK chapters? The Golden Aires in the southern district, the 49ers in the central district and the Golden Bears in the northern district. Each of these chapters is manned by wonderful and exciting chapter officers. Each one has volunteered to serve within their chapters and make them the best in the NKK. You can do this too. Just step up, volunteer and let it be known, you will not be alone. There are many of us who will help you with your duties as an officer. Oh, for all out-of-staters, you can join one or all three of our California chapters too. Just think, spending time in sunny, low humidity Golden State is a bucket list item for sure. So come and join us at a rally. Just two requirements. Own a Newmar and be an active member of the Kountry Klub.
Now speaking of chapters, we have to say good-bye to a wonderful couple who gave their all for seven years to the Golden Aires. We wish Ken & Leah Wilson a hardy goodbye and hope their travels around the nation is fun and exciting. Ken & Leah were masters in planning and hosting a rally. Everyone who attended one of their rallies knew they would be walking away from a fun rally and a gift in hand from a vendor. So, Ken & Leah, from the NKK, the California chapters and personally from Teresa & I, we will miss you. But we know, you are only a phone call away to mentor any new and upcoming officers. Thank you again for all you have accomplished during your tenure.
As for new Golden Aires Chapters Presidents, we welcome Jennifer & Joel Miner and patiently await their first hosted rally in 2023. We know from their many years of experiences of being the Golden Aires secretary/treasurer, they will exceed all expectations for years to come.
Well, it’s time to say good-bye and drive off into the sunset. Wait a minute, we can’t drive off into the sunset in California, we will drive into the Pacific Ocean! So, we will just drive off with the rubber meeting the road and wave to all Newmar owners as we pass by each other.
Until next time, hang ten dudes and watch out for the rag-dolling in your wipeout! (Old surfer term)…
