California Golden Aires – Presidents
Greetings from sunny Southern California, home of the Golden Aires! We’re Jennifer & Joel Miner, the new Presidents of this chapter. First off, a hearty THANK YOU to Leah & Ken Wilson who signed off on the stewardship of the Golden Aires after six years as Presidents. But don’t worry…they’ve promised to keep their hands in the pot, so it’s just so long and not goodbye! We complete our new chapter board with Teri & Tom Chelbana as Vice President and Kristine & Ken Price as Secretary.
A bit about us as a way of introducing ourselves. We’ve been Newmar owners since Jan ’17 and now are on our second coach – love the Newmar family, not to mention our pretty coach. We’re 95% retired and do travel a bit, along with our faithful Springer Spaniel Daisy. Between the two coaches we’ve logged about 74K miles. We’ve now completed our USA map (ok not Hawaii) and filled in eight Canadian provinces and territories.
We decided last summer to try out the Newmar caravan concept and enjoyed ourselves so much that we’re back this year to go a big step further…all the way to Alaska! I hear there’s still a couple of spots available…join us right after the International Rally to explore the last frontier!
We’re currently enjoying the wonderful 49ers Rally in Monterey. After the Golden Aires Rally in Temecula last month, we’ve now put our Presidents’ hats on and started scouting locations for our ’23 rally. We’re hoping to try a “no host” rally as well. We have a few ideas up our sleeves, so plan on joining us in ’23 so that we can get to know all of you better. For those of you who are new to Newmar…it’s a great way to meet people and learn lots of helpful tidbits about your coach.
