As summer comes to a close, we have much better memories than the ones from 2020. We were able to travel to more places and see more friends. We visited the jagged coastline of Northern California for a week in Fort Bragg, went to our family cabin at Lake Tahoe for a week and took several 4-5 day trips to the California coast where the temperatures were about 30 degrees cooler than they were at home.
As this issue arrives, we will have just returned from the Golden Bears Rally in Jackson, California. I am sure we will be all smiles as this has been a fun rally in the past. Two weeks later we will be heading southwest to attend the Arizona State Rally, the Region One Rally, the Nevada State Rally and concluding our trip with 5 days in Pismo Beach to just rest and relax.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars to attend the California 49ers rally in beautiful Monterey, California from April 24-28. Better yet go online to the Newmar Kountry Klub website and sign up now. As I write this, we still have space available but we may be full by the time you read this. Don’t despair, because as we all know “life happens” so there will be a waiting list. We will be spending four nights/five days at the Monterey County Fairgrounds RV Park in Monterey, California. We will be providing four breakfasts, three dinners and an electric catamaran tour of Elkhorn Slough. There will also be a few fun and surprising activities and presentations. You will have one free day to explore the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula. You may want to visit Historic Cannery Row, visit the shops in Pacific Grove, and explore the streets of Carmel, a town as well known for its shopping as it is for its most famous former civil servant, the Honorable Mayor Clint Eastwood. You may just want to drive the scenic 17-Mile drive described as “one of the most scenic drives on the Monterey Peninsula, and quite possibly the world.”
