Arizona Sun Catchers – Presidents
By the time you read this we will be back in Arizona after having attended the International Rally in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Our travels to the rally will be circuited through N Central Washington State for a family reunion near the town of Republic, northwest of Spokane. On that route we will cross the Columbia River, upstream from the Grand Coulee Dam and Dry Falls. The visitor’s center at Dry Falls tells the story of massive floods during the Ice Age when ice blocked the Clark Fork River, creating a 2,000 ft deep lake in Western Montana. Evidence indicates that the dam failed periodically, emptying the lake with flows estimated to be 13 times the volume in the Amazon River; traveling at speeds 60-80 mph. For more information, read about Glacial Lake Missoula.
Some good news to report! The Arizona Sun Catchers have set the date and location for our 2023 rally. It will be at the De Anza RV Resort from April 1-5, a very nice time to be in Arizona. The resort is about 40 miles south of Tucson, in an area with a rich history of early settlers in the Southwest. That and other activities are being researched for our rally excursions.
We look forward to seeing you in Rock Springs and at our 2023 rally.
