Arizona State Directors
Spring is on its way to being sprung in the Desert Southwest. We find ourselves looking very much forward to attending the first rallies of the season in Region One. Our February begins with the California State Rally followed shortly after by the California Golden Aires. The first week in April, the Arizona Sun Catchers are holding their rally in Camp Verde, and then we are off a little further north in California to Monterey to join the 49ers. We are hitting the ground running in 2022! That might be the perfect motto for this year.
We are closing out 2021 with good friends and NKK Minnesota State Directors, Bear & Robin Abraham. We decided this past summer to check a bucket list item and attend the Rose Parade and some of the events associated with it. (That’s where we sit as I write this.) As we drove to our RV Park yesterday there were several HUGE potholes along the freeway. We made it through not feeling a thing in the motorhome – Whew! The next thing we knew three vehicles drove by us honking horns and the last one had people hanging out the window pointing under our coach. We decided to take notice and pull off to the side of the road. A quick look around found no problems on the Newmar, but our toad was limping — literally! Bear and Robin — don’t you know that friends don’t let friends tow toads with only three tires?!? The guys changed the tire, Robin took pictures and I sat in the coach with our three furry friends. While changing the tire, Duane said “at least it isn’t raining!” Bear said “shhh – don’t say that!” Of course, the rain began about three minutes later! All was well and we were back on the road quickly. A big thank you to the motorists that alerted us quickly before anything worse happened.
Now let’s move to the fall 2022 – October 6-10 in particular. We’re planning our first rally as State Directors, and we’re excited to share that our rally will be held at the brand new River Sands RV Resort in Ehrenburg, Arizona. Ehrenberg is located right near Quartzsite, Arizona, the Colorado River and the southern California Border. While we are still early in the planning process, we wanted to share this early information to assist in planning your travels. As always, please keep an eye on this space in the Legacy Magazine and on the Newmar Kountry Klub Calendar for more information.
Take care, safe travels and we hope to see you soon. We can be reached at email AZStateDirNKK@gmail.com or cell 248-933-1405.
