Arizona State Directors
As we prepare to leave summer behind and head into fall, Arizona begins to start hopping again. Those that flee the summer heat, begin to head back to the southwest and fall rally season is open once again. The Arizona State Rally will be held October 6-10, in Ehrenberg, Arizona at the brand-new River Sands RV Resort right on the Colorado River. You will find us right between the California Golden Bears Rally and the brand-new Utah State and Chapter Rally. We plan to visit the Parker Japanese Internment Camp memorial and the Colorado River Indian Tribe Museum where we will learn how these two groups of relocated peoples worked together to enrich the western most area of Arizona. And you can be sure that the balance of the rally will include lots of food, fun and folly!
If all continues as planned, Duane & I will have attended every rally in Region One and the International this year. This is a huge milestone for us. In past years, before Duane retired for the second time, we were limited by distances we could manage over a long weekend. We had the reputation of arriving late and after dark, then leaving a bit early to prepare for the work week. That all changed last year! Now we say we are on “RV time”! Although many might question how much has really changed — we still are likely to get in late and after dark, but now we plan to get to our destination a day early!
We do hope we see you at some or all the scheduled rallies in Region One this fall. There are a lot of choices available during the September-October timeframe! Happy travels!
