Fall is upon us -as we ponder where has this last year gone – many of you will now be making your plans for the migration south, we wish you all safe travels. Remember while you are down south to check the Klub calendar for the many luncheon, breakfasts etc. that are scheduled in the areas where you winter, what a great way to meet fellow members and make new acquaintances.
Thanksgiving in Canada this year falls on October 14. That’s right: Canadian Thanksgiving falls on the second Monday in October, American Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November. Both holidays, however, are generally seen as an opportunity to give thanks for what’s good in our lives, celebrate nature’s bounty, and enjoy a big meal with family and friends. So, no matter which day you celebrate, we wish everyone the gift of faith, and the blessing of hope this Thanksgiving Day, and throughout the year.
We are looking forward to attending the Hershey RV show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This will be our first time attending this show and our shopping list is growing by the day for those not required but must have RV items.
The Remembrance Day Ceremony in Canada has played a major role in Remembrance since 1931. Every year, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we gather in memorial parks, community halls, workplaces, schools and homes to stand in honour of all who have fallen. Together, we observe a moment of silence to mark the sacrifice of the many who have fallen in the service of their country, and to acknowledge the courage of those who still serve.
The Act of Remembrance
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them.
The Newfoundland Caravan was a great success and we had great fun and enjoyed the company of 17 other Newmar owners for the 52 day caravan. A great many stories were told, and new lifelong friend were made. If you have not yet experienced a Newmar rally or caravan one must ask you – why not? One item that has been clear after this caravan is to have a properly working tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) on all the tires for your RV and tow vehicle. At this time, we are preparing to head to the International rally in New York but prior to that we will be attending the Hershey RV show which is the largest RV show in North America. Hopefully our cheque book still has some cheques in it after the show.
Plans are well underway for the rallies for 2020. If you have any suggestions for a location, please consider passing it along to us or to your local chapter president.
As always, our door is always open, and we look forward to all comments and suggestions.
We meet, We part, We hope to meet again.
