Virginia Wheels’ fun-filled season began on June 17 as we began celebrating our 30th NKK Anniversary in Luray, Virginia at Luray KOA. The 40 attendees had lots of laughs as well as gained at least 10 pounds.
Because 15 out of 40 attendees were first timers, the rally began with a Get Acquainted Left/Right Game. By the end of the game, everyone was laughing as they became well acquainted! What fun! After a brief meeting, announcements, and pictures, the renowned author and Virginia State Director, Michael Vreeland had his crayons ready to sign his infamous book, RV Primer, How to Start & Enjoy RVing!
Of course, food followed with everyone getting stuffed with pizza, salad, & desserts. The evening was completed with Michael Vreeland conducting games of card bingo.
If you ever go to Luray, Virginia, it is a given you must eat at the historic Mimslyn Inn. Friday breakfast was as delicious as always! Following that you then need to proceed to Luray Caravans. The tour package includes not only Luray Caverns but also the Car & Caravan Carriage Museum, Shenandoah Heritage Village, Toy Town Junction. Lots of fun things to see & do for everyone!
Dinner was served from the Broke Down BBQ Food Truck. We had our choice of an entree and drink during a two-hour window to be served. The hard part was trying to decide which of the 6 fantastic options you wanted for dinner. Throughout the evening everyone relaxed, enjoyed being together, played corn hole or other games, solved the world’s problems, etc.! Then came Virginia Wheels’ 30th NKK Anniversary Ice Cream Social which was a huge success!
Saturday began with SkyMed reps, Dennis & Cheryl Ryan conducting an excellent SkyMed presentation while we enjoyed the delicious breakfast they provided. Then everyone went their own way to explore as they chose. After the dinner buffet was devoured, Charlie & Deane Grebinger conducted an exciting, hilarious game of TV Trivia.
Unfortunately, our rally was concluded on Sunday. After everyone enjoyed their fabulous breakfast, they began to depart. Along with all of the farewells, there was excitement as to when we will all get together again!
Many of us are looking forward to gathering together again on:
September 29-October 2-Virginia State Rally, Americamps, Ashland, Virginia
Our Virginia State Director, Michael Vreeland has loaded this rally with food, games, and lots of fellowship! Plan to be there!
October 12-17- Region Five Rally, Dillard, Georgia

As always, Virginia Wheelers cherish the memories of all the fun we have had throughout the years whenever we have rallied together! 2021 is no exception as we continue to enjoy the fun & fellowship!
