Carl & Gayle Webber (20143)
The Carolinas (NC/SC) State Directors
Hey, y’all! By the time you read this, we have traveled from North Carolina to Wyoming, attended the NKK International Rally, spent an additional two weeks in the Rock Springs area, and are probably back in North Carolina … that alone is about 1,900 miles. As of this writing, we have not mapped out our return trip plans, but it is sure to include Nevada (the only drivable state in the United States we hadn’t visited). If you haven’t attended an NKK International Rally, we encourage you to do so. Mark your calendar now for the 2023 NKK International Rally to be held in Sedalia, Missouri, September 30 – October 7, 2023.
Our next adventure this year will kick off the first week of October when we head to Jonesborough, Tennessee for the 50th Annual National Storytelling Festival. We’ve attended this event eight of the last ten years and thoroughly enjoy the creativity of the best storytellers in the nation. The stories themselves run the gamut from historical to hysterical, and the styles from serious to downright silly … including some of the best bold-faced lies you’ll ever hear. From there, we will rendezvous in Brunswick, Georgia with friends from Lake City, Florida before heading to the Region Five Rally in Savannah, Georgia. Gary & Wanda Smith, Region Five Directors, always put on a great rally. We always look forward to attending and enjoying time with our fellow Region Five Newmar family.
There is only one more “local” rally planned for this year for the North and South Carolina Chapters – and it’s one you don’t want to miss. Each year, the South Carolina Palmetto Pals and North Carolina Tarheel Kountry Klub gather in Myrtle Beach for our annual Christmas at the Beach Rally … which always includes lots of fun, food and fellowship (and annual Chapter Business Meetings). This year, the dates are December 6-9, and we’d love to have you join us. Details will be published on the NKK Klub Calendar when they are finalized, but you are encouraged to book your campsite now. Click the link above or visit the NKK website for additional information.
Once again, we leave you with a reminder: If you haven’t joined your local NKK chapter, you’re missing out on one of the BEST parts of your NKK membership. Your local rallies provide great opportunities to learn more (and/or help others learn more) about our Newmar coaches. If you live in North or South Carolina and are not a member of the Tarheel Kountry Klub or the Palmetto Pals, we’d love to have you join our family. Please contact us for membership information; our phone numbers and e-mail addresses are included below.
Happy travels, y’all … to wherever your Newmar takes you! We can be reached at dc3carl@gmail.com / younggrammygayle@gmail.com 704-225-7442/ 704-619-1851.
