Hey, y’all! We hope each and every one of you enjoyed a blessed Christmas and festive New Years’ celebrations! Our Carolinas’ family, North Carolina Tarheel Kountry Klub and South Carolina Palmetto Pals, closed out 2020 with a relatively small (13 coaches), but fun, Christmas at the Beach Rally the second week of December. We enjoyed a lot of socially-distanced fun, food and fellowship – and were thrilled to welcome four “First-Timer” couples to that event.
As we ease into the warmer spring months, please keep in mind that our Carolinas State Rally is scheduled for April 18 – 23 at Salem Breeze Campground in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Activities will kick off with a Welcome Social at 5:30 PM on the 18th. Other activities include three (3) breakfasts three (3) tour days and four (4) dinners. Call the campground directly at 276-236-0300 to make your reservations. Tell them you are with this rally to ensure you are charged the rally rate of $40.00/night. We only have 20 sites, so call early for reservations.
In June (7-11), the Tarheel Kountry Klub will team up with the Tennessee Volunteer Kruisers for a combined rally at The Great Outdoors RV Resort in Franklin, North Carolina. This rally was originally scheduled in 2020, and although it was Covid-canceled, about a dozen coaches kept their reservations. That “non-rally” gathering was a great opportunity for a trial run of several of the dining venues and activities, and everybody had a great time. The details will be posted to the NKK Event Calendar as soon as we can get updated pricing from the various venues. In the meantime, we encourage you to register on-line and book your site early by calling TGO at 828-349-0412; be sure to tell them you are attending this rally.
Of course, the 35th NKK International Rally (July 17-24) is going to be held “in our back yard” – at the West Virginia State Fairgrounds in Lewisburg, West Virginia. We hope to have a HUGE Carolinas “family reunion” and win the “prize” for the greatest turnout!
For any NKK members living in North or South Carolina who are not currently members of the Tarheel Kountry Klub or the Palmetto Pals, please contact us or those respective chapter officers for membership information. Their e-mail and phone numbers are included in the following chapter articles. Both chapters are comprised of wonderful, fun-loving folks who would welcome you with open arms.
As always, please reach out to us if we can answer any questions and/or address any chapter concerns you may have. We can be reached at dc3carl@gmail.com or younggrammygayle@gmail.com 704-225-7442/ 704-619-1851.
Safe travels, y’all … to wherever your Newmar takes you!
