South Carolina Palmetto Pals – Presidents
Hello all from the South Carolina Palmetto Pals. Grace and I are in “wander mode” after the Tampa Super Show Rally down in sunny Florida. As I type this, we have gone as far west as Galveston, Texas. We managed to miss the great polar vortex storm with all its ice, snow, and freezing temperatures and are hoping for some sunny travel days ahead. We’ll end our great southeast loop in Gaffney, South Carolina for an annual Freightliner checkup and then meander around South Carolina for a while.
By the time this edition of Legacy comes out, we will have attended the Carolinas State Rally in Swansea, South Carolina and will be headed towards the North Carolina Tarheel Kountry Klub Rally in New Bern, North Carolina. I can’t say how much fun these local chapter rallies are. We’ve met some wonderful friends and always enjoy the meals, activities, fellowship and fire ring conversations. It’s exciting to see all the local chapter events happening all over the country, and I highly suggest joining in on the fun at the local level.
We’ll begin our trek westward sometime in May as we make our way toward Rock Springs, Wyoming for the 36th International Rally. Our plan is to complete a great western loop bringing us back to the Southeast just in time for our Region Five Rally in Savannah, Georgia.
Grace and I are adjusting to our new responsibilities as President and Secretary. We have truly enjoyed getting to know more of the Palmetto Pals and hope to meet all of them on the road sometime soon.
Safe and happy travels,
