North Carolina Tarheels – President and Secretary

Hello again from Ray & Kathy Dyer. The weather here at beautiful Lake Gaston has been cold and windy for the last few weeks. Winter needs to leave; we need to “spring” into summer.

Join us in welcoming our new North Carolina Tarheel Chapter members: Linda Miles & Richard Vaughn; Jerry & Katie Santasiere; Joe & Bernadette Brugman; Ron & Kathy Larkin; James & Peggy Meadows; and Fred & Joanne Furnell.

Kathy & I are in the planning stage for our trip to Rock Springs, Wyoming for the International Rally, with a follow up loop to the west and through the northwest states, about three-month tour. On the way to the International Rally, we are stopping in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to celebrate the 90th birthday of Kathy’s mother; Barb Prall.

Looking forward to all the great rallies coming up for the rest of the 2022.

Have fun on your travels and be safe. And speaking of being safe, many places have Emergency Services, but a cell phone may not connect with a local Emergency Tower and connect you with the closest Emergency Service if you are unable to provide a specified address, etc. Try using a cell phone App called “what3words.” When you dial 911 use the APP to identify your location and tell the operator “WHAT3Words” followed by the location provided on the screen of the App. Example: redwoods.dandruff.jousting. There is only one location with those words, and Emergency Services can do a look up on those words and know exactly where you are. Get familiar with it and don’t forget to use it as I did once.
