Tennessee Volunteer Kruisers – President
Hello from the Tennessee – Volunteer Kruisers Chapter! Welcome to 2022! The New Year celebration is now history and it’s time to get ready to take part in my favorite season . . . CAMPING SEASON! It’s time to get those coaches out of storage, get them dusted off, washed, waxed and ready to go! As this is written I hope that many of you are on your way to the Tampa Super Show in Florida or have already arrived. Please say HELLO to your friends and mine as we are unable to attend this year.
Before totally forgetting about last year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people for everything they did for all of us during this past hectic year. First, Ron & Wanda Llewellyn, our International Directors, and the entire staff at the NKK office. You put in a lot of long hours creating all our rallies, caravans, etc. in an effort to rebuild and fill our calendar of events. I hope you know how much we all appreciate your efforts. I would also like to introduce and thank our new chapter Vice-President, Bill Mannion, who has stepped up to help support our chapter. We appreciate your fresh outlook on our chapter and the effort to get it moving into the future. Please watch for more announcements from Bill in the near future. And most importantly, our Tennessee – Volunteer Kruiser chapter members for hanging in there for another year. We closed out our 2021 year with a membership of approximately 53 coaches. I would also like to say a huge thank you to our Region Five Directors (Gary & Wanda Smith) for all their efforts with the Tampa Super Show. And, last but not least, to Phil & Charlene Budd (our Tennessee State Directors) for their hard work in creating a great state rally. We always look forward to this fun event.
But now, more about camping. I have started loading up my calendar with fun events, travel destinations and rallies to attend in 2022. One upcoming event is the Tennessee State Rally to be held this year at the Two Rivers Resort in Sevierville, Tennessee on April 26 – May 1. Be sure to check the Klub Calendar to see if there is anything you might want to put on your calendars. As always, we are looking for new locations to hold rallies. If during your travels last year, you found any “hidden treasures”, please be sure to pass them along to your chapter officers. We are willing to work with you to host/co-host a new and different rally for all to enjoy. And don’t forget, “Got a hobby?” turn it into a rally!
In closing, I would like to put out there one small reminder. . . Keep in mind that there are many RVers in your state and surrounding areas that might own a Newmar but do not belong to a local chapter. They may have never heard of us (unbelievable I know) but our recruiting efforts occasionally miss a few. If you see one of them in a campground or RV park where you might be staying, make a special effort to introduce yourselves and talk about our Volunteer Kruiser chapter. Keep a few older Legacy magazines around so that you can give them one and if you would like a few blank membership applications, let me know. Thank you for being NKK and local chapter members and most importantly, for owning a Newmar!
