We held our PSK Rally May 5-8 in Midland (Columbus), Georgia at Lake Pines RV Park &
Campground. We had 24 members to attend and four guests. We all enjoyed touring Callaway Gardens, The National Civil War Naval Museum and the downtown area of Columbus. We enjoyed plenty of good food, games and visiting with friends. We could not have asked for better weather. It was a great time to be out touring the area. We are already making plans for the 2022 PSK Rally. Something should be posted in a few weeks, so be looking for the announcement on the NKK website.
About three weeks later we headed to Crossville, Tennessee for the Tennessee State Rally, hosted by Phil & Charlene Budd at the Spring Lake RV Park. It was a great park with sites that backed up to the lake and a nice clubhouse close by. We heard presentations from SkyMed, Proteng, and Retro Bands. NIRVC also brought a 2022 Ventana Coach for everyone to walk through. Card Bingo was a lot of fun and as usual, there was a lot of good food to enjoy.
After the Tennessee State Rally, we traveled to Franklin, North Carolina to The Great Outdoors for the Tennessee/North Carolina Joint Rally. The rally was hosted by Gayle & Carl Webber and Sharon & Denny Ward. We all got a chance to experience “gem mining” at Mason’s Mine. The ones that went mining found some precious gems, such as rubies and sapphires which are native to the area. There were many other gems found too. There was good food, games and plenty of time to socialize.
We love attending these rallies each year. Often, they take us to places that we have never been before to experience things that are new to us.
As this is written our next destination will be the International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Lewisburg was the location of the first International Rally we attended as members of the NKK. We had a great time then and I know the rally will be even bigger and better. We are really looking forward to going back to Lewisburg.
The Region Five Rally to be held in Dillard, Georgia October 12-17 is full, but if you are interested in attending call Gary Smith, Region Five Director and ask to be put on the waiting list. There are always cancellations and you might be able to get in. October is a wonderful time to be in the North Georgia mountains to see the leaves change their color.
We welcome to our chapter Ron & Gail Day, Young Harris, Georgia, Jim & Marsha Dudley,
Rome, Georgia, and Rob & Sherry Krajicek from Bryan, Texas. We hope to see them at some of the rallies next year.
We were saddened to hear about the passing of Margaret Angell (14133-L) several months ago. She and husband, Art have been members of the NKK since 2002 and are past Georgia State Directors. Art’s address is PO Box 337 Midland, GA 31820 if you would like to send him a card.
