Georgia Peach State Krackers – President
We were not able to attend the Tampa Super Show this year, but as always, I heard it was another great rally. We will attend some Florida Chapter rallies in the next few months and then on to the Florida State Rally, which will be held in April 22 in Sarasota, Florida. There are so many things to do in that area, and I know the Florida State Directors, Greg & Margie Harrop, have some great things planned for the rally. We then head north for a whirlwind of rallies, the Tennessee State Rally and then the Mid South Tri-State Rally. It will be fun to see our RV friends that we haven’t seen since last year.
We will then head back south to visit friends and family in Florida for a few weeks before we head out west to do some traveling and sightseeing before the International Rally in Rock Springs, Wyoming in July. We hope to travel to Salt Lake City and do some sightseeing in that area since we have never been there. Are there any Must-See and Must-Do’s in that area? Our travel is planned around rallies that we plan to attend during the year and that seems to be a great way to visit different areas of the country and it works well for us.
As we travel, we come across campgrounds that we enjoy going back to when we are in the area. Mike & Marcia Wendel and Frank & Kathy Cushman enjoy staying at Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Georgia because all the sites are nice and big and have concrete pads, shrubbery between each site to give you some privacy and the roads inside the campground are all paved. I must agree that this is a nice campground to stay at. Wayne & Carole Keith are members of Harvest Host and enjoy staying at Hodges Vineyard & Winery in Camp Hill, Alabama. The winery offers five sites with water and electric, which is unusual. The hosts were very gracious, and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoy staying at Crossing Creek in Blairsville, Georgia. We love the mountains of North Georgia and the town of Blairsville. Crossing Creek has cemented pads at their sites, a nice gym, beautiful clubhouse where they host potlucks and a nice swimming pool and sauna. We love it there.
We welcome our new members to the Chapter: Richard & June Kranz, Austin & Courtney Lee, Darren & Judi Muise, Rajah & Phyllis Rodgers, Paul Schnieders & Jim Sheltmire and Mike & Dana Smith. Just as we were getting to know them, Gary & Connie McDonough have decided to sell their RV and will no longer be RVing. We wish them well in their next endeavor.
We are in the process of planning our 2022 Rally, which will be held September 21-25 (4 nights), at Bald Mountain Park Camping Resort in Hiawassee, Georgia. Registration is available on the newmarkountryklub.com website. We will be taking the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway along the Toccoa River where we will stop in sister towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee for a couple of hours where you will be on your own to eat and shop if you like. We will have a golf outing for the ones that play golf, so don’t forget to put your clubs in the coach. There will be some free time for you to get out and wander around the area, or stay at the campground and relax or enjoy the outdoor recreation that the campground offers. This is a Buddy Rally (they can bring their other brand RV), so invite your friends to come along and enjoy the fun. You will have to help them register on the NKK website and enter guest in the space that asks for your NKK club number.
The Mid South Tri-State Rally for 2022 will be held May 2-6 at River Rocks Landing in Gadsden, Alabama. Information and registration is on the newmarkountryklub.com website.
The Region Five Rally will be held October 23-28 at Creek Fire RV Resort in Savannah, Georgia. Information and registration is also on the newmarkountryklub.com website.
