We packed away our Holiday decorations and are working on losing the extra pounds we gained from all those cookies. For some of our members, the winter snows are still blowing and for others the sun is shining. Wherever you are, it’s time to pull out your calendar and look at your plans for the year. Let’s begin with the 36th Annual Kountry Klub International Rally, scheduled for July 16-23 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. We have been to Wyoming before, but Rock Springs is a new location. New locations bring new things to see and do.
Rock Springs was founded in 1888, but began its life in 1868 when the Union Pacific Railroad set up a coal mining operation. The locals refer to it as the 57 Variety Town, referring to the many different nationalities of coal miners that came to work in the mines. The town of Rock Springs sits in the county of Sweetwater and is considered the fifth largest town in Wyoming. And although the conversion of rail travel changed from coal to diesel, which then drove out many of the coal mines, the city is thriving and now mines trona. What is trona? Come to the International and find out.
The surrounding area is filled with beautiful places to visit: Green River, Superior, and the Flaming Gorge, all with adventures waiting to be explored. Grab your calendar and a pen and begin marking up your calendar; go to the Kountry Klub website, www.newmarkountryklub.com and register to attend. Head out a few weeks early and find new places to explore along the way. Or better yet look at the Klub Calendar again and find a rally along your travel route. Meet new friends while exploring along the way. As it is said, Kick the tires and light the fires…. It’s getting time to travel. And Kountry Klub members know how to travel in style.
Did you know the Klub has merchandise online now? Can’t make it to the Tampa SuperShow or the International Rally? You can purchase your Newmar Kountry Klub clothing online. The International Directors and the office staff have worked long and hard to be able to make this dream a reality. So hop on over and pick up a new shirt or jacket.
We look forward to seeing many of you on the road, at rallies and the International. And remember this is your Klub, so if you think of anything we can do better, or find a great location for a rally or think up a great place for a caravan to visit, drop a line or give us a call. You are the inspiration for the Klub events.
PS: While you have those calendars out, don’t forget to mark the dates of the 2023 International Rally, September 30-October 7, 2023 in Sedalia, Missouri.
