Another Newmar Kountry Klub International Rally is in the books, and plans are already being made for the next one. Mark your calendars for October 2023; we are headed to Sedalia, Missouri. We hope those of you who attended this year in Rock Springs, Wyoming, had a wonderful time and are planning on returning next year. If you missed the rally we hope to see you next year.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our lead volunteers Laurie Hunt, Dwayne Page, Diane & Charlie McCullough; you make our job easy. We thank each and every one who helped with the Information Desk and all the aspects of the International Rally, we truly could not do it without you. THANK YOU!
There were several opportunities this year to participate in the Caring and Sharing program. This year we also began a new community project, making quilt blocks for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Thank you to all who took the time to make a square or ten. Your giving is one of the amazing things about the Kountry Klub, and you are awesome. Some of you may or may not know that several of our members have been on the receiving end of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. And now with blocks to donate to the Foundation, we are bringing it full circle so to speak. Each quilt is dedicated to a Service Member. Their information is included on a label attached to the quilt along with information about who made the quilt. Here are two quilts which were presented to our very own Tennessee State Directors: Phil & Charlene Budd. The quilts are beautiful, and I know that both Phil & Charlene cherish them.
We thank all Service members, First Responders, Police, Fire, EMS, and the dispatchers who watch over them from the United States and Canada, who give of themselves to keep us safe in our daily lives.
I understand that there are those who donated blocks which might be slightly smaller than the actual size needed. And that is my error in writing the first draft of the block information. But have no fear, all of those blocks will be used in a quilt top made by myself and several volunteers and then donated to Quilts of Valor as a finished top.
There are rallies, caravans, and special events still on the calendar. We look forward to seeing you on the road.
