Below is a Recap on the 2020 Remaining Special Events
New Event This Year – Black Hills Rally
Enjoy the spectacular scenery which is the Black Hills. Rally dates are September 9-16. We will visit Custer State Park and hopefully spot free range bison and begging burros, Bear Country, the Mammoth Site at Hot Springs, Wind Cave, Journey Museum, the Stavekirk Chapel, Chapel of the Hills, Ellsworth Air Museum and Missile Site. We’ll tour the Landstrom Black Hills Gold Factory, as well as visit the Badlands and Wall Drug. Most of our travel will be by luxury motorcoach so that all of our guests may enjoy the views. The event will also include a free day so you can enjoy any of the many other area attractions on your own or with the new friends you’ll make on this trip. This caravan will be led by Jerry & Sue Argabrite, experienced event hosts. This event is now open to guest units. The Black Hills Rally opened for reservations in mid-May and, as of this writing, we currently have one site left.
Branson Christmas Rally is scheduled for November 8-15. Get into the holiday spirit by joining us for the Christmas in Branson Special Event. We will be staying at the Americas Best Campground with full hooks.
Some of the highlighted shows are Dolly Parton’s Stampede, The Dutton’s, Brett Family Christmas, The Texas Tenors, Oh Happy Day, Sight & Sound Theatre presentation of Noah, Clay Cooper, Haygood’s, Hughes Brothers, and the Showboat Branson Belle. We will enjoy a tour of the College of the Ozarks, the Ralph Foster Museum, and lunch at the Keeter Center. Other delicious delights will include Getting Basted, Montana Mike, Uptown Café, and The White River Fish House. We car pool to many of the venues, and you will want to explore the many attractions this area has to offer on your own during free time, so we strongly encourage tow vehicles.
This event will be led by Jerry & Sue Argabrite, experienced event hosts. Reservations opened on June 1 and we have half the sites filled at this time.
The final event for 2020 will be the Rally in the Keys – dates are December 6-12. How does a great time of relaxation and enjoying the ocean breezes with your Newmar friends before the rush of the holidays sound? Well we have an event all set up to do just that – the Rally in the Keys! This slower pace rally will be the perfect event before the busy holiday season.
We will be staying at the newly renovated Fiesta Key Resort with 50 amp full hookup sites. Enjoy a daily social at sunset and time to explore on your own or just sit back and relax. Included will be two dinners and three breakfasts and an ice cream social. We have several tours set up: the Pigeon Key Boat Tour, Dolphin Research Center, Theater of the Sea Tour and a Key West Trolley Tour.
This is a buddy rally so bring your RV friends along! After registering for the event, you do have the opportunity to register directly with the campground for two additional days before or after the rally at a reduced daily rate. Gary & Wanda Smith will be your experienced rally hosts.
Reservations opened on June 1st, within two days we had over half the sites filled. At the time of this writing we only have a couple sites left. This event has sold out each year so don’t wait too long to get registered.
See the Klub Calendar on this site for the status of the above events along with the complete details and reservation form.
2020 Events Cancelled Due To COVID-19
Due to health concerns for our members and event leaders as well as the uncertainty of our planned events we have had to cancel several of our special events. Most recently the 2020 Grand Circle Caravan in August, as well as the 2020 San Antonio/Spring in Texas in May, and the Lewis & Clark Caravan in June. We intend to repeat these events in 2021. All members that were listed as attendees when we cancelled the events will be notified early to register for 2021. After that point we will open the event for reservations.
Also the 2020 Calgary Stampeded Caravan in July was cancelled and it will be repeated possibly in 2021 or 2022. Again, the members that were registered when we cancelled will have first opportunity to attend this event.
Looking ahead to 2021
To begin the year off we will hold our two annual events in January. First for our members in the southeast is the Tampa Supershow Rally. Dates for this event will be January 12-17. This event is dry camping with 30 amp electric. The Kountry Klub will have it’s own entry gate and our own parking team. You will have unlimited access to all show activities. We will have our rally tent set up in our area and will have several social get-togethers planned, an ice cream social, as well as the annual meeting with Newmar Executives for an update on Newmar and a Q & A session. This event is limited to 211 sites and sells out each year.
New Reservation Information for Tampa Rally
This event is a buddy rally but as we have sold out the last several years within 6 to 8 weeks we are now opening only to members on August 3rd at 10:00 am EST through the Klub website. We will then open to guest units, space permitting, on September 14th at 10:00 am EST through the Klub website.
Also in January for our members in the southwest will be the Quartzsite “Gathering in the Desert” Rally. Dates will be January 13-18, 2021. Location will be in the same area as in the past. South of I-10 below Quartzsite. Go 6.2 miles south on Hwy 95 (south of Milepost 99). Turn west on 53rd St North (formerly LaPaz Valley Rd) about 200 yards and then go northwest into the desert. Follow the Newmar Kountry Klub signs, the first sign will be where you turn off Hwy 95 to the right south of milepost 99. Come early and/or stay later or just stop by to visit if you can. Gathering GPS Coordinates: 114 13 43.67 W 33 35 01.47 N (copy these into Google maps or Google Earth to see the location). We will have more details on this event in the next edition of the Happenings.
At this time we do have the dates set for the rescheduled San Antonio/Spring in Texas Event. This will be held from April 1-10, 2021. This will be offered first to those that were registered when we cancelled the event. After those spots are filled we will open to the members. We anticipate this opening for reservations later this fall. Watch future editions for a confirmed date.
We are currently working with our Special Event leaders on several trips for 2021. We will keep you updated as these plans develop.
