Grand Circle Caravan
As most of you know we had to postpone the Grand Circle Caravan to 2021. The caravan will meet in Mancos, Colorado on September 26 and we will depart Moab, Utah 22 days later on October 18. Campgrounds should all have full hook up and 50 amp except one campground which is 30 amp.
You will be in Colorado, Arizona and Utah on this trip. We will start our adventure at Mesa Verde National Park (NP) with its Cliff Dwellings, where 800 years ago tens of thousands of people once lived. Next to Durango to travel to Silverton on a bus tour and take the train back down seeing truly beautiful mountain scenery. Then on to Goulding’s Monument Valley where you will take a ride out into the valley to see the famous monuments you have seen in all those old western movies.
Next, we will spend some time in Page, Arizona on Lake Powell with a narrated boat ride into tall canyons and between grassy areas of this tremendously deep lake. We plan to take you to the un-commercialized North Rim of the Grand Canyon NP where you don’t want to miss sunset from the lodge’s porch area. This is where you will see wildlife and fields of beautiful Aspens. We don’t want you to miss Zion NP where you will look up to see its beauty, and then Bryce NP for a spectacular sunrise as you are looking down at the hoodoos.
From here we will travel through to Moab with a short stop in Capital Reef NP. You will be able to explore one day and then the next day drive your units through it to Moab, Utah. There is so much to see in Moab including Arches and, Canyonlands NPs plus Dead Horse Point State Park. You will also enjoy a boat ride on the Colorado River in the evening while the guide points out interesting rock formations and tells a story.
We must warn you that there will be extensive walking and not always on flat, level, or paved surfaces. At the cliff dwellings you will need to climb a ladder to exit and at Antelope Canyon there is a metal grate staircase to enter into the canyon. If you are able bodied this should be no problem.
Rally hosts will be Jerry & Phyllis Rose. Information will be added to our website in the next couple weeks. Rally fee for this caravan will be $4,500 for two in a unit and $2,820 for one in a unit.
As this was originally scheduled and cancelled in 2020 it will be offered first to those that were registered when we cancelled it. Details can be found on under the Klub Calendar by clicking on event name.
Remaining spots will be opened to members thru the Klub Calendar menu option on Monday, February 15 at 10:00 am EST.
Our rally hosts, Jerry & Sue Argabrite, are beginning to work on rescheduling the Black Hills Rally.
