Hawaii Aloha Aires – Presidents
The chapter will be holding its annual meeting in October during the International Rally. We have requested a meeting room, so check the schedule. Our treasurer will be resigning at that time so we will have elections for vice president and treasurer. If you would like to be on the ballot, please email George at gjamesusaf@gmail.com.
We have five couples registered for the Hawaiian rally on February 6-17 on the island of Kauai. It is not too late to join the fun. A deposit of $500 will hold your reservation. George has made arrangements with our condo management company at Waipouli Beach Resort to offer discounted condo rates. Please check out their website (www.kauaiexclusive.com/waipouli-beach-resort-main) for available condos and contact Jenna (jenna@kauaiexclusive.com) to make reservations. Kauai Exclusive is also offering concierge services for booking excursions. Contact Darshan at 808-635-0963 or concierge@kauaiexclusive.com and tell her you are with the Aloha Aires group. They will pair up attendees with similar interests, such as ATV’s or deep sea fishing. Waipouli Beach Resort is centrally located on the east shore of Kauai so this will be the central gathering point. There are great grills around the pool, so we can have some cookouts. On the east shore there is also Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton, timeshares, and several boutique hotels.
As people register online with NKK, we will email to see if you would like to share contact information with other attendees in case you might want to share a two-bedroom condo or a car rental. All the major airlines have direct flights into Lihue (capital of Kauai), especially from Las Vegas which Hawaiians call the 9th Island. National Indoor RV has generously offered to store your coach at their facility in Las Vegas while you are in Kauai, and you can have service done while you are on vacation. NIRV is planning a welcome dinner for those taking advantage of this great deal.
Your registration fee includes a welcome sunset dinner cruise of the Na Pali coast and a farewell dinner with front row seats for the fire show on Valentine’s Day. There are a multitude of activities available: relaxing on the beach, snorkeling, sightseeing and a tour of Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific), golf, hiking, zipline, horseback riding, kayaking the Wailua River, scuba diving, botanical gardens, historic plantations, and our favorites: inner tubes through the irrigation tunnels of the old sugar cane plantation and walking through the orchard of the Gaylord Plantation picking fruit … the opportunities are endless.
