“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. It goes on.” ~ Robert Frost
ONWARD – We have left our winter quarters in Central Florida fully vaccinated and headed north for visits with family and friends and long delayed hugs. We have been kept busy making plans for the rest of 2021 and 2022. We have 3 chapter rallies in the works, in addition to planning activities at the 2021 and 2022 International Rallies. Knowing we are not out of the woods with the pandemic, we are being cautious with our plans and the health and safety of our members is our first priority as we are strictly adhering to all local and state protocols and recommendations. We are more than ready for fun and friendship – our chapter’s motto!
It’s hard to believe, but it’s just about time for the 2021 Fulltimers Rally and Annual Business Meeting in Wytheville, Virginia July 11 – 16, before the International Rally in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Our rally at the Wytheville KOA is currently full. Plans include breakfast every morning, a lunch and show at the Wohlfahrt Theatre, a catered welcome dinner and an Herb farm outing. We will have a local historian provide us with local flavor and history of the area. The last night we are planning a special 30 something anniversary shindig with nationally known live entertainment – thanks to our chapter vice president Hal & Lynn Fryer and their musical connections in the area. Dan Woodley is helping us plan a special meal once again. Additionally, we will have presentations and round tables on a variety of subjects. As has become a trademark of our chapter, we will be supporting a local charity in order to leave a positive impression on the area. This year, we will be supporting HOPE, INC and their affiliated programs – Open Door Café and HOPE Packs that strive to ease the burden of food insecurity in Wythe and Bland counties.
Our Annual Business Meeting will take place on Monday, July 12, 10:00 AM EST at the Wytheville KOA during the rally. All members of the Chapter are welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting even if you are not at the rally. Election of officers will take place during the meeting. We plan to once again stream the meeting live on our Facebook group page, if you are a member of the Fulltimers Facebook group and out of the area, you can still watch all the action. After the Fulltimers Rally, many of us will caravan and park together at the International Rally exactly 100 miles away. We are looking forward to providing attendees snacks with the famous Fulltimers Popcorn and Lemonade booth sponsored by Steinbring Motorcoach in Garfield, Minnesota. We plan to present a couple seminars at International including a round table with Fulltimers Chapter dais members to answer questions on fulltiming and general RV interests.
We are adding an additional rally to the schedule this year and putting together plans for a HOLLY JOLLY RALLY to be held at the beautiful Creekside RV Resort in Punta Gorda, Florida December 5-9. Our co-hosts will be Hal & Lynn Fryer chapter vice-president for this event. Tentative plans are for attendees to kick off the holiday season with a Harbor Cruise to view holiday lights and a Swamp Buggy Eco Tour, in addition to meals and activities at the campground. Mark your calendars and keep checking the NKK Calendar of Events for additional details. Registration is scheduled to begin June 2021.
The 2022 Fulltimers Rally and Annual Business Meeting will be held in Heber City, Utah July 10-15, 2022 before the International Rally in Rock Springs, Wyoming. We have reserved 60 sites and registrations will take place through the NKK Website in February 2022. There’s so much to see and do in this area so mark your calendars now.
We also hope to have some less formal get togethers as we travel this summer and in the fall and winter when we return to Florida. We encourage everyone to consider hosting an event. We will provide support and advice as needed.
The Fulltimers Chapter has recently added quite a few new members and would like to issue a big WELCOME to all our new friends. It’s great to have you on board! You don’t have to live full time in your Newmar to join, we welcome anyone interested in the fulltiming lifestyle.
We hope to see many of you at one or more of the upcoming rallies. We remain grateful to be associated with such an enthusiastic and caring group of people. Stay safe until we meet again.
We welcome your comments and suggestions on how better to serve the chapter.
