You are invited to explore with us this definitive part of our history\, and gain better understanding of what this scientific research brought. \nOur two-stop caravan will take us from Albuquerque to the mesa tops of Los Alamos National Laboratory\, and to the deserts of White Sands Missile Range\, including a visit to the Trinity Site\, which is only open to the public twice a year. \nWe will gather in Albuquerque for a four-night stay\, and begin our experience with a welcome dinner\, and a visit to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History (a Smithsonian museum). There\, we will be given a docent-led tour of the museum\, and learn how atomic science has evolved to help put men on the moon\, improve medical diagnosis and treatment\, and power our cities and industry. \nFrom Albuquerque\, fueled by a catered breakfast\, we will carpool 100 miles north to visit the “Secret City” of Los Alamos\, New Mexico\, where scientists lived and worked during the Manhattan Project.
