TUNNEL TOUR
$12/person or $36/family*; site admission included in tour price; 1.25 hours

Put on a miner's lamp and go up the underground! This unique underground tour ascends the 210 foot long inclined conveyer tunnel. Between 1936 and 1979, 5 million tons of coal descended this one of a kind transportation tunnel. Follow in the footsteps of the miners, in one end and out the other. Emerge high in the scenic badlands, and encounter the mine blacksmith shop and the ruins of the Atlas #3 portal.
Please note: The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site has set policies in place to ensure the comfort, safety, and quality of experience for all program participants. To achieve this, participants must wear suitable footwear for the tunnel tour. Suitable footwear includes running shoes, hiking boots, or sturdy sandals with a back strap. There are no flip flops or crocs permitted. Participants are also encouraged to bring water, wear hats, and use sunscreen. The terrain is steep, uneven and rough.
TIPPLE TOUR

Climb the last wooden tipple in Canada, and see the inner workings of this nationally designated historic icon. Hear stories of the men and the boys who worked in the Drumheller mines. This tour is suitable for all ages, but moderately strenuous. People who are troubled by heights or ascending a ramp will find this tour challenging.

MINE TRAIN TOUR
$9/person or $27/family*: site admission included in tour price; 60 minutes

Climb into a coal car and tour the surface plant and spectacular badlands scenery. This new above ground tour expands upon our popular coal car ride, and will be popular with families and train lovers of all ages. This narrow gauge "mantrip" is pulled by an antique Mancha Mule battery locomotive, formerly used in underground mines. Weather dependent. Due to authentic equipment, visitors with mobility issues may find loading into cars difficult.
