July South Carolina Palmetto Pals Chapter Message

The Pal's rally at Crooked Creek in West Union SC was a great success. Thanks to our host, the Weeks and Carrera's. We had ten motor homes in attendance, including James and Monique Thompson, who had such a great time they became the newest Pal's members. Welcome James and Monique. We also had the pleasure of hosting Bob and Bonnie Krieger, our Regional Directors.

The food was great throughout the weekend, especially the trip to Joe's NY Pizza. They spoiled us bad, we slowly made our way back to our cars, and waddled up to our motor homes. We were treated to an early morning drama at Saturday's breakfast, a cat was caught in a car engine, we were able to watch the local fireman perform an heroic rescue. All ended well for the cat and the car.

Five of our most adventurous members attempted to play golf on Friday. Roger Weeks won, achieving the lowest per stroke cost!

We had great conversations throughout the weekend. Through a lot of laughter, and some interesting descriptions we learned Dede Fischer can't wait for a super duper golf cart. Please plan to catch up with John and Dede at the next rally to see how this dream is playing out.

Many of the Pal's have set their travel plans for the near future. Kenn and I will be traveling throughout the Northeast, Niagara Falls, and attending our first International. Lupe and Dianah will be on their new Goldwing, wandering around the US, The Fischer's will be visiting family and friends, doing some sightseeing in Ohio, and heading to the International and the Weeks, Myers, and Thompson's will be heading to Michigan, with many stops along the way. Roger will be resting up prior to leading 11 members in a caravan into the international. We welcome visitors to our “international compound” throughout the week.

Final plans are proceeding for our joint North Carolina/South Carolina Christmas rally at Myrtle Beach. The Blanchard's and Wright's are creating the best one yet, hopefully we can get 100% attendance. Have a great summer

June South Carolina Palmetto Pals Chapter Message

Winter is over, the flowers are beautiful. A number of our Palmetto Pal's snowbirds have returned home from Florida. John Gates, Lyle & Jean Myers, Gary & Penny Farber, and Roger and Peggy Weeks, finished their winter long partying in Naples, FL. They were not far from Art & Lois Flanders, and Phil and Sandra Johnson. The Blanchard's, Jones, Coleman's, and the Cupples relaxed in FL. As well. The weather this year did not cooperate, still better then the snow and ice up north. Dick and Nancy Cupples celebrated the birth of their second grandson, Levi, in Feb. Lupe and Dianah Carrera spent time touring on the Gold Wing, keeping their motor home tucked in for the winter. Ed Nix continues his recovery, he expressed his heart felt thanks for all the cards, thoughts, and prayers the past few months. The recovery has taken much longer then expected, we're looking forward to seeing Ed and Glenda at our Christmas rally.

The Pal's are eagerly awaiting the initial rally of the year at Crooked Creek, May 13th. We're excited Bob and Bonnie Krieger will be joining in the fun and games. We are also looking forward to the International Rally in Aug. The Palmetto Pal's have a caravan of 10 coaches signed up and ready to roll. Please let us know if you'll also be attending, so we can set up some social's.
