As you read this article we have recently left the International rally held in Sedalia, Mo. It was the second time that the rally has been held in Sedalia. There were 448 RVs in attendance.

As volunteer team leaders, we arrived a week early to help set up the Parts Dept. and the Service Dept. We had a great team of volunteers to help us with the set up. We cannot say enough good things about the volunteers that helped with special thanks to Greg Harrop, team leader of the Service department. On Registration day the Parts Dept. sign-up sheets were full of volunteers to work 1.5-hour shifts for the whole rally. Thank you to the NC/SC members who volunteered their time! Many other states’ members also volunteered their time—Becky and I are very grateful. We also signed up to drive rally shuttles (golf carts) and to serve 2 evening dinners. We had a lot of fun meeting new members and making new friends to spend time with in the future.

It is hard to believe that it is FALL again. Why can’t the Spring and Summer seasons slow down a little bit? It sure makes me want to savor the Fall season knowing that in a few blinks of the eye that ole man Winter will be pushing the Snowbirds in a southerly direction.

After enjoying the Tri-State (VA, NC, SC) rally held in Mount Airy, NC, we set our next rally stop for the International rally in Sedalia, MO. We stopped along the way to kill a little time before arriving at the big rally. After a few days in Pigeon Forge, we met up with our caravan outside of Nashville, TN. Roger and Peggy Weeks are again our hosts and safely led us to Sedalia after a few days stop in Branson, MO. We enjoyed some great shows and then headed for a short trip to Sedalia. We arrived several days early to help set up the Parts Dept. along with other volunteers.

The Carolinas’ group is doing well! Both chapters are adding new members and we are pleased for our chapter Presidents. Many of our members are on the road and have traveled to some special destinations.

We are proud to say we purchased a new 2017 Dutch Star. In June, we made our first trip to Nappanee to get a computer desk installed. We love the new ride! The bad thing about getting a new RV, we had to clean out the old one. Boy! What a job!!

The Tarheel chapter had two luncheons in August. The first was in Troutman at Julia’s Tally House for the western half of the club. The second luncheon was held in Clayton for the eastern half of the club. Both luncheons were well attended.
