Upcoming Special Events for 2018
Starting the year off we have the annual Tampa Supershow Rally. Dates will be January 16-21. Included in the rally fee is unlimited access to the show, entertainment, morning donuts and coffee in our tent. Newmar Executives will update us and have a Q & A session. We will enjoy an ice cream social, several get togethers, and several seminars also in the tent. Once again we will have Newmar's service techs on site for minor repair items. This event is sold out but we do have a standby list, if interested to be added to list please contact the Klub office.
"Gather" with us in Quartzsite, Arizona on January 17-22 for the Gathering in the Desert Rally. Come watch the beautiful sunsets and visit the 'Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show'. Come early and/or stay later or just stop by to visit if you can.
Location: The same area as in the past - South of I-10 below Quartzsite. Go 6.2 miles south on Hwy 95 (south of Milepost 99). Turn west on 53rd St North (formerly LaPaz Valley Rd) about 200 yards and then go northwest into the desert. Follow the Newmar Kountry Klub signs, the first sign will be where you turn off Hwy 95 to the right south of milepost 99. GATHERING GPS COORDINATES: 114 degrees 13' 40.73" West and 33 degrees 35' 01.32" North
Activities Planned so far: Five prepared early evening dinners. Social hours each afternoon and campfires each night weather permitting. Seminars by vendors and attendees.
We are bringing back the popular Western Caravan. This trip is scheduled for June 30 - July 19. We will depart from the International Rally in Gillette, Wyoming. First stop will be Buffalo, Wyoming. We will have breakfast and a tour the next morning of an original Wild West hotel complete with bullet holes in the ceiling.
Then on to Cody, Wyoming where we will take a trolley tour of the town, watch a street gunfight, attend the finals of the Stampede Rodeo, tour the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, watch a parade for the Rodeo, and have dinner at Buffalo Bill Cody Hotel, the Irma. On the 4th of July they have a huge fireworks display.
Then on to Yellowstone National Park. We will tour the upper loop of the park by bus with a step on guide. You have two days to spend as you like before we move on to the Tetons National Park. You will enjoy a covered wagon ride out to a cowboy dinner with entertainment. You will have two days at the Tetons before we will move on to the living Ghost Town of Virginia City with a Comedy Follies that evening.
Next on to Helena, Montana where we will travel down the Missouri River with our guide to the Gates of the Mountains as seen by Lewis and Clark on their explorations. On to Great Falls, Montana where we will tour the C.M. Russell Museum with outstanding exhibits of the Lewis and Clark Expedition plus view the water falls in the area. Last stop will be West Glacier, Montana where we will take the Red Bus tour up to the top, Logan Pass. We have left free time for you to explore on your own as there is so much to see. Your Caravan leaders will be Jerry & Phyllis Rose.

July 5-17 are the dates for teh Calgary Stampede & Canadian Rockies Caravan. Dave & Joanne Killey along with Ron & Wanda Llewellyn will be hosting this caravan. We will meet and spend 6 nights in the town of Cochrane, Alberta. The "Newmar Bus" will provide the transportation to all stampede events. There is lots to see and do in this area and there is ample free time to explore.
Then get ready for spectacular scenery as you drive into Banff National and then into Jasper National Park to the historic town of Jasper where you will spend three nights in prime wilderness area of Whistler National Park. Here you will enjoy a scenic 5 hour train/bus tour. Your drive back to Banff will be highlighted by a stop at the Athabasca Glacier where there will be a snow coach waiting for you to take you up the glacier and the most spectacular scenery there is.
Next stop is Banff Tunnel Mountain RV Park, or a nearby park, for a 3-night stay. A guided tour of the famous Banff Springs Hotel along with a picture session with a RCMP in full scarlet uniform and farewell dinner at the historic Old Spaghetti Factory are just a few of the activities planned for Banff. Don't forget you will need passports for this event.

We will be repeating the annual Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Rally October 5-10, 2018. Details on this event will be coming in future editions of the Happenings. Reservations will begin in April.
Besides the above we are looking into one more event for late 2018. Keep watching future issues of the Happenings as these develop.
And to close out the year we hope to repeat the Florida Keys Rally in early December. Unfortunately that had to be cancelled for 2017 due to the Hurricane damage. We will update you as details come together over the next couple months.
