Summer is now in the rear-view mirror and the sights and sounds of fall are already in the air. Many of you are on your way to warmer climates or getting ready to head that way. The various chapters here in the sunshine state have a busy calendar planned for the start of the rally season. Please check the calendar of events in the Konnection or Kountry Klub website to see what’s going on. If you happen to be in Florida for the winter season come join us.

Deb and I are spending our summer in Connecticut visiting with family and friends. This has been a very eventful summer. We attended the New England Aires rally in Braintree, VT at Abel Mountain Campground along the banks of the White River. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in Maine and best of all our son and daughter-in-law announced they were blessing us with our first grandchild. Our other son and his wife are in the process of building a new home so we have been doing a lot of advising (only if asked) about 50 amp hook-up requirements and water access. Not to mention parking space requirements.

The 2017 Florida State rally at Cypress Campground in Winter Haven, FL is now history. We had a great turnout with 30 coaches in attendance. The weather was perfect. The food and fellowship were wonderful. There was a mini golf tournament run by Greg Harrop with medals and a trophy awarded for first place to Rolf and Anne Kuhns. Card bingo was hosted by Steve Burnette. We visited the Florida Natural (think orange juice) visitor center, Bok tower and some folks managed to get in a boat ride too. Of course, there was lots of good food. Bill and Eileen Berg (he is a great BBQ master) smoked some pork and Chef Paul Rusznak and Milly Supplee were hard at work most of the week preparing our delightful eats. Susie and Jim Quiggle presented the history of the Dulcimer and performed some tunes for us. We ended the week with a cookout. Tom Priester was our chef that night. We did an old-fashioned Yankee swap and Bud Gallagher provided music for dancing and our listening pleasure.
