The “Kountry Klub,” as it is known, is one of the leading RV social clubs in the recreational vehicle industry. Our members are from all over the United States and Canada. This is an exclusive club for owners of Newmar recreational vehicles and offers many advantages and benefits to our members.
These are the unique characteristics of the Kountry Klub.
Our members travel together, much like a large family, all
over North America or reunite in various areas of the country at rallies, special events and caravans. Through the Kountry klub we have the opportunity to have open relations and communication between Newmar Corporation and our owners of Newmar RV's. We have created an environment for fellowship, adventure, friendship and recreational fun.
Barbara and I are honored to represent members of the Newmar Kountry Klub as their International Directors. This is a huge responsibility that we don’t take lightly and is one that countless volunteers make easier. |

From the Desk of Barney & Barbara Barnett (2916-L)
Well, we’re off and running! We hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season. As we look forward to this year I am sure it will go by entirely too quickly. As you read this, the Tampa Super Show and the “Gathering in the Desert” will already be over. Even as of this writing we have over 100 units registered for the Tampa outing. We would like to thank North Trail RV Center in Ft Myers and Tri Am RV Center in Ocala, FL for sponsoring the tent at the Supershow.
We are so fortunate to have Officers and a Member-at-Large who care so much about you and the Klub. I think Jim Hagedon’s article this month indicates the feelings of all our Region Directors as well as many other Officers. We are all committed!!
We had a new Dealer join the Klub! Holiday World of Houston joined in December 2009. They are located at 28909 Katy Freeway in Katy, TX. Also an oldie but goodie is back! Tri-Am in Ocala, FL – 5441 NE Jacksonville Rd, is a Newmar Dealer again. They have a second location in Tennessee at 1202 Idell Rd, Bulls Gap, TN. So if you are in the area of Katy, TX, Ocala, FL or Bulls Gap, TN be sure to stop in and welcome them! |

We are in the process of contacting past International Directors and Region Directors about the “reunion” during this year’s International Rally. We hope many will be able to come and join us this year. It also gives all of us the opportunity to thank them for all their work in the past.
If you are planning to attend this year’s rally, the following paragraphs are extremely important to you. The International Rally information and reservation forms will be in the April issue of the Konnection. We are still in the process of finalizing some of our contracts so we can set our rally fee. As we did last year, the full hook up sites will be reserved starting on Monday, April 12th. Sites will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The full hook up site pricing runs from Saturday to Saturday which includes your early parking days. We expect the full hook up sites to be sold out the first day. The designated Handicap parking area IS NOT in a full hook up area. If you are handicapped and desire a full hook up you still must get your reservation in before the sites sell out and you will be parked in the full hook up area.
Please let me remind you that there is no coach in the Newmar line that REQUIRES 50 AMPS to camp. In larger coaches it does require the occupants to be careful what they try to run and most of you do. We did NOT experience any problems at last year’s rally other than those caused by the coach occupants themselves and those were very few.
In order to reserve a site, all your paperwork must be in order and all fees paid in full at time of registration. You can mail (postmark of April 7 or LATER), fax your reservation to the Office on April 12th (574-773-5130), or sign up on line beginning April 12th. We cannot take phone reservations for the International. The above applies to Caravans (which all must be submitted to the office at one time) also, so, if you are planning a Caravan, get your group together early.
There will be NO TRAMS at the rally. The Fairground is fairly compact and most activities are located within easy walking distance. There will be golf carts available for rent for those of you who would like to rent them. Rental information will be in the April Konnection.
We will bring back many of the activities this year that were so popular last year in addition to adding several new ones. We have had a great deal of interest from local vendors who want to take part this year. For those of you who missed out on the Amish bake sale last year, no worry, it will be a lot bigger this year. Yum yum!!
Just a reminder for those who are participating in our Anniversary Quilt project – send your completed blocks to Kay Tibbetts, 1000 N. Central, c/o Olde Mill Stream, Umatilla, FL, 32784 by April 15, 2010.
We are also working on our Optional Tours for the days prior to the rally, and maybe even one during the rally. Watch for the April issue for added information.
Any member interested in teaching a craft class should contact the Klub Office as soon as possible. We are working on the craft schedules as well. We welcome member input, so if there is a class you would like us to try to schedule, or one you would like to teach, please let us know.
Don’t forget our Special Events for the year. The Alaska, Newfoundland and Grand Circle Caravans are all in this issue and open for reservations. The Balloon Fiesta will be posted in later issues of the Konnection. Remember, we do have minimums necessary to make these events “go”, so, if you are interested please make sure you sign up early.
Don’t forget your Honey this Valentine’s Day. Everybody likes to be remembered by that special person.
